We're looking for event Volunteers
Join us and be part of an inspiring event by volunteering at TEDxOrlando.
TEDxOrlando is returning to the Orlando on Saturday, October 17, 2026, and we’re looking for reliable, enthusiastic volunteers to help create an exceptional experience for our speakers, performers, partners, and attendees.
Event-day volunteers play a vital role in making TEDxOrlando run smoothly. From welcoming guests and supporting registration to helping with wayfinding, speaker support, registration, and behind-the-scenes logistics, our volunteers are part of the team that brings the day to life.
If you are organized, friendly, proactive, and excited to be part of a major ideas-driven event in Orlando, we’d love to hear from you.
Please make sure you read the information below before you apply.
Who can apply to volunteer?
When is TEDxOrlando?
Anyone who is reliable, professional, friendly, and excited to support TEDxOrlando is welcome to apply. Volunteers must be 18+.
Where is the event?
TEDxOrlando will take place at the Linda W. Chapin Theater at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. TEDxOrlando takes place on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
What will volunteers do on the day?
Volunteer roles may include registration, guest welcome, ushering, wayfinding, speaker support, performer support, hospitality, accessibility support, production support, partner support, and general event operations.
Do I need previous event experience?
No. Previous event, hospitality, theatre, conference, production, or volunteer experience is helpful, but not required. We are mainly looking for people who are reliable, calm, helpful, and willing to follow instructions.
Will volunteers receive training?
Yes. Selected volunteers may be asked to attend a briefing or training session before the event so everyone understands their role, schedule, and key event-day responsibilities.
Is this a paid role?
No. TEDxOrlando event-day volunteer roles are unpaid.
Will I get to watch the talks?
We will do our best to create a positive volunteer experience, but volunteering does not guarantee a seat in the theatre or access to watch all talks. Some roles may allow you to see parts of the event, while others will be focused on supporting operations.
What should I wear?
Selected volunteers will receive guidance before the event. In general, volunteers should expect to dress neatly, comfortably, and appropriately for a professional live event. You may also be asked to wear a branded volunteer shirt, badge, or other identifying item.
Can students volunteer?
Yes. Students are welcome to apply, especially if they are interested in events, storytelling, production, communications, community engagement, or public speaking.
Does applying guarantee a volunteer role?
No. Submitting an application does not guarantee a placement. We will review applications and select volunteers based on event needs, availability, experience, and role fit.
When will I hear back?
We will review applications as we build the event-day volunteer team. If there is a potential fit, a member of the TEDxOrlando team will contact you with next steps.
Who should I contact if I have questions?
You can contact the TEDxOrlando team here.
